Continuing the PR relationship

  1. Remember: Journalists are people, too

  2. "Stories aren't sold, they're bought"

    • People will only care if they're predisposed to care: Your job is to find out:

      1. Who already cares about your topic, or

      2. How to relate your topic to something else they care about

  3. Keep on top of what they do: Let them know they're not just another name on a list.

  4. Listen as much as you talk

  5. Provide appropriate support (demos, product, spec sheets...)

  6. Bones: Throw 'em if you got 'em
